Geflochtene "Haithabu-"/"Wikinger-"Lesezeichen [Kreativ-Vlog 09/2023]

 

 Inspiriert von zwei Youtube Videos von @WyrdKindredhabe ich "Haithabu-"/"Wikinger-"Lesezeichen geflochten. Dazu seht Ihr ein paar Aufnahmen von Haithabu aus 2022.

Mini-Maibaum und Filzblumen

 

 * Inspiriert durch das Beltane-Video von BurningPumpkinLady habe ich einen Mini-Maibaum gebastelt, allerdings meine eigene Version mit Materialien, die ich gerade zur Hand hatte. Den Standfuß des Maibaums hat Frank mir gebastelt und ich habe den Fuß noch etwas bemalt. 

 * Inspired by the Beltane video by BurningPumpkinLady, I made a miniature maypole, but my own version with materials I just had at hand. Frank made the base of the maypole for me and I painted it a bit.

 * Außerdem habe ich noch eine Blumen genadelfilzt. 

 * Furthermore, I needlefelted a few flowers.

Elen of the Ways Pulli (Grima) * Elen of the Ways jumper (Grima)

* Ende November 2021 habe ich diesen Pullover begonnen und Anfang Oktober 2022 fertiggestellt. Es war mir beim Anschlagen schon klar, dass das wieder ein laaanges Projekt sein würde. Das hat mich jedoch nicht gestört. Irgendwann wird so ein Pullover fertig. Zwischendurch hatte ich auch andere Dinge gemacht: Wieder mal mit Perlen gewebt, das Nadelfilzen begonnen (was ich durchaus fortsetzen möchte) und in das Holzschnitzen reingeschnuppert (und festgestellt, dass das eher nichts für mich ist). Kontinuierlich habe ich an diesem Pullover gearbeitet, auch wenn es manchmal einfach nur eine Reihe war. 

* I started this jumper at the end of November 2021 and finished it at the beginning of October 2022. Of course, I already knew that this would be another loooong project when I started. But that did not bother me. A jumper like this will be finished at some point. In the meantime I also did other things: Beadweaving again, started needle felting (which I would like to continue) and tried wood carving (and found out that it is not really for me). Continuously I worked on this jumper, even if it was sometimes just one row. 

* Der Pullover ist "Grima" von Elsebeth Lavold. Ich nenne meine Version Elen of the Ways nach einer weiblichen Sagengestalt, die ein Geweih trägt. Das finde ich passend, da die Wollfarbe "red deer" ("Rotwild") heißt und mich auch das Muster an ein Geweih erinnert.

* The jumper is "Grima" by Elsebeth Lavold. I call my version Elen of the Ways after a female mythical figure who wears antlers. I think it is suitable because the wool colour is called "red deer" and the pattern also reminds me of antlers.

Samhain-(Halloween-)Edition

* A propos geweihtragende Sagengestalt ... Hier sind noch ein paar Fotos aus der "Samhain-(Halloween-)Edition". Die Julbock-Maske ist von der schwedischen Künstlerin Bella Granlund, die ganze Julbock-Kostüme von Hand fertigt. Der Julbock brachte unter anderem in den nordischen Ländern früher die Geschenke und könnte entfernt verwandt mit unserem Knecht Ruprecht sein.

* Speaking of the antlered mythical figure ... Here are a few more photos from the "Samhain-(Halloween-)Edition". The Yule goat mask is by the Swedish artist Bella Granlund, who crafts complete Yule goat costumes. The Yule goat used to bring presents in the Nordic countries and might be distantly related to our Knecht Ruprecht.

 

Mehr Nadelfilzen: Troll

  

* Die tollen Trollkarten von BusBodega haben mich zu einem Wald-Troll inspiriert. Außerdem wollte ich sowieso mal wissen, wie man beim Nadelfilzen Haare anbringt. Dazu habe ich mir bei Youtube verschiedene Nadelfilzvideos zum Thema "Highland Cow" angeschaut. 😄​ Für das nächste Mal weiß ich, was ich besser machen kann. Ob alle Trolle Vokuhila tragen? Oder Ähnlichkeit mit einem berühmten außerirdischen der 80er haben?
Der Troll bekommt vielleicht noch eine eigene Landschaft. Mal sehen ...

* The great troll cards from BusBodega inspired me to make a woodland troll. I also wanted to know how to add hair when needle felting. I watched various needle felting videos on Youtube on the subject of "Highland Cow". 😄 For next time I know what I can do better. I wonder if all trolls have mullets? Or resemble a famous alien from the 80s? 
Maybe the troll will get its own landscape one day. We will see ...

Nadelfilzen: Minizitronen und Mini-Eule (Needlefelting)

* Für zwei Freundinnen, die mich vor einer Weile auf den zauberhaften Instagram-Kanal Zitronenbude aufmerksam gemacht haben, habe ich zwei (haltbare) Minizitronen nadelgefilzt. So langsam bekomme ich den Dreh raus, wie ich die Körper forme und vor allem, wie sie schön fest werden.

* I needle felted two (non-perishable) mini lemons for two friends who drew my attention to the enchanting instagram channel Zitronenbude a while ago. I am slowly getting the hang of how to shape the bodies and especially how to make them nice and firm.

* Bei Ihrem zweiten Ausflug, fanden die Zitronen in der Nähe eines Kornfeldes einen Strohhut. Allerdings kamen sie zu dem Schluss, dass er keinem von beiden so richtig passte ...

* On their second country outing, the lemons found a straw hat near a cornfield. However, they came to the conclusion that it did not really fit either of them ...

* Kurze Zeit nach den Mini-Zitronen probierte ich dann noch eine Eule nach einer Anleitung. Sie ist aus dem Buch "Sweet and Simple Needle Felted Animals: A Step-by-Step Visual Guide" von Sachiko Susa.

Erstes fertiggestellter Schnitzprojekt * First finished whittling project

 

* Holzschnitzen zu lernen steht schon lange auf meiner Handarbeits-Wunschliste. Nicht zuletzt, weil Frank Schnitzwerkzeug (oder eher Bildhauerwerkzeug) von seinem Opa geerbt hat. Endlich konnte ich ein Schnitzwerk zu Ende bringen. Sieht aus wie von einem Baby gemacht ;), aber ich freue mich trotzdem. 

* Learning to carve wood has been on my handicraft wish list for a long time. Not least because Frank inherited carving tools (or rather sculpting tools) from his grandpa. Finally I was able to finish a carving. It looks like it was made by a baby ;), but I'm happy anyway. 

* Eigentlich wollte ich mit diesem Zauberer anfangen. Aber ohne jedwede Schnitzerfahrung war das Projekt doch etwas ambitioniert. Für die gänzlich fehlende Erfahrung ist er im Nachhinein eigentlich gar nicht so übel geworden ... Irgendwann mache ich nochmal einen richtigen Zauberer.

* Actually, I wanted to start with this wizard. But without any carving experience, the project was a bit ambitious. In retrospect, he actually turned out not too bad for the complete lack of experience ... One day I will whittle another real wizard.

* Mit dem Messer im Beavercraft-Schnitzset kam ich gar nicht klar, weswegen ich mich dafür entschied, ein anderes Messer zu kaufen. Doug Linker sagt in einem seiner Videos zwar, dass das Messer keinen Schnitzprofi aus Dir macht, und da stimme ich zu, denn bessere Stricknadeln machen auch keine bessere Strickerin aus einem, jedoch habe ich gemerkt, welchen Unterschied ein gutes Messer ausmacht. Ich kann viel leichter durch das Holz schnitzen und die Schnitte werden viel glatter! Ich bin superzufrieden mit dem Flexcut-Messer.

* I could not handle the knife in the Beavercraft carving kit, so I decided to buy another knife. Doug Linker says in one of his videos that the knife does not make the carver, and I agree because better knitting needles do not make the knitter, either, but I have noticed the difference a good knife makes. I can carve through the wood much easier and the cuts are much smoother! I am super happy with the Flexcut knife.

* Der Igel schloss übrigens gleich nach seiner Geburt Freundschaften und erkundete die Gegend.

* By the way, the hedgehog made friends and explored the area right after he was born.

Making Of:

Peyote Erdbeere * Peyote Strawberry

  

* Als Kind wurde ich von meinen Großeltern mütterlicherseits oft im Sommer zum Erdbeerpflücken mitgenommen. Was war das toll! Erdbeere in den Mund, Erdbeere in den Eimer, Erdbeere in den Mund, Erdbeere in den Mund ... ;) Erdbeeren essen so viel man konnte. Traumhaft! 
Als ich diese Anleitung von LadyLunarCatMagicArt (Etsy) für eine Erdbeere aus Zylinderperlen sah, fiel mir gleich meine Oma ein, die im Mai 99 wird. Für sie habe ich die Erdbeere gefädelt. So schnell werde ich aber nicht noch eine weitere machen, das ganze Zusammennähen war recht anstrengend für die Augen. Ich habe außerdem noch sehr viele andere Projekte auf meiner Liste, nicht nur handarbeitstechnisch. Kann mir jemand Langeweile erklären?

Gefädelt habe ich die Erdbeere aus Toho Treasures.

* As a child, my maternal grandparents often took me strawberry picking in the summer. What a great thing that was! Strawberry in the mouth, strawberry in the bucket, strawberry in the mouth, strawberry in the mouth.... ;) Eating as many strawberries as you could. Fabulous! 

When I saw this tutorial by LadyLunarCatMagicArt (Etsy) for a strawberry made of cylinder beads, I immediately thought of my grandmother who turns 99 in May. I made the strawberry for her. I will not be making another one so soon though, all the sewing together was quite exhausting on the eyes. I also have a lot of other projects on my list, not just needlework-/crafts-related. Can someone explain boredom to me?

Peyote Tulpe aus 15/0 Delicas * Peyote Tulip from 15/0 Delicas

 

* Wie im vorherigen Eintrag angekündigt, habe ich die Peyote Tulpe noch mit den kleineren 15/0 Delicas gefädelt. Hier das Ergebnis.

* Mit der schönen Anleitung "3d peyote stitch Tulip flower 19T001" von LadyLunarCatMagicART (Etsy) habe ich 2 Tulpen als Geschenke für meine "Mütter" und "Väter" (Eltern und Schwiegereltern) gefädelt. Hier habe ich jeweils 11/0 Zylinderperlen (Toho Treasures und Miyuki Delicas) verwendet. Für meinen Jahreszeitenbaum will ich noch eine Tulpe aus den kleineren 15/0 Miyuki Delicas perlen - drückt mir die Daumen, dass die Perlen beim Zusammennähen nicht brechen ...

* With the beautiful tutorial "3d peyote stitch Tulip flower 19T001" by LadyLunarCatMagicART (Etsy) I have beaded 2 tulips as gifts for my "mothers" and "fathers" (parents and parents-in-law). I used 11/0 cylinder beads each (Toho Treasures and Miyuki Delicas). For my seasonal tree I want to bead another tulip from the smaller 15/0 Miyuki Delicas - keep your fingers crossed that the beads will not break when sewing the parts together ...

 * Um meinen Jahreszeitenbaum frühlingshaft zu gestalten, holte ich mal wieder die Perlen raus. Aus dem Buch "Dimensional Flowers, Leaves & Vines" (Barbara L. Grainger) fädelte ich eine Ranke aus 15/0 Toho Rocailles, die "Exotic Elegance Flower" aus 15/0 Delicas und eine eigene Blattvariante aus 11/0 Toho Treasures. Technik: Peyote.

* To make my seasonal tree spring-like, I got out the beads again. From the book "Dimensional Flowers, Leaves & Vines" (Barbara L. Grainger) I beaded a vine from 15/0 Toho Rocailles, the "Exotic Elegance Flower" from 15/0 Delicas and my own leaf variation from 11/0 Toho Treasures. Technique: Peyote.

* Das Anbringen an den Baum hat mich einige Nerven gekostet. Die kleinen Blüten hatte ich vor wenigen Wochen schon einmal gefädelt.

* Attaching the components was quite nerve-wracking. I had already threaded the small flowers a few weeks ago.

Erstes "Unboxing" シ Nadelfilzset "Häschen filzen", St.-Brigid-Kreuz u.a. [Vlog Januar 2022]

* Dieses Mal im Kreativ-Vlog mein erstes "Unboxing". ;) Niedliche Tierchen, St.-Brigid-Kreuze und weiteres sowie Naturaufnahmen gibt es zu sehen. Bitte seht mir die Atem-/Störgeräusche beim Audiokommentar nach. Ich werde versuchen, das das nächste Mal zu verbessern. Ich übe noch!

Kreativ mit Siegelwachs

* Zu Weihnachten habe ich Siegelwachs und Siegelwachsstempel bekommen. Damit kann man Wachssiegel zum Verzieren oder als Anhänger kreieren. Es ist nicht nur entspannend sondern man selbst und eventuell andere können sich an dem Ergebnis erfreuen. (Mit Audiokommentar)

* For Christmas I was gifted sealing wax and sealing wax stamps. You can use them to create wax seals for decoration or as pendants. Not only is it relaxing, but you and possibly others can enjoy the result. (with German audio commentary only)

Handschuhe "Herwodis" * Gloves "Herwodis"

 

* Diese Handschuhe bestehen aus einem Muster des Pullovers "Irish Moss" sowie aus einem Muster der "Chalet Socks"-Socken. Es ist schwierig für meine Winz-Hände eine passende Hanschuhanleitung zu finden, daher musste ich mir selbst etwas ausdenken. Ich wollte mal wieder Zopfmuster stricken, nachdem ich mich zuvor vermehrt am Farbstricken versucht hatte. Die Wolle ist ein Rest der Sockenwolle (Sockenwolle 4-fach "Wüstensonne") von Alte Künste, aus der ich schon meine "Neowise"-Socken strickte.

* These gloves are made from a pattern of the "Irish Moss" jumper and a pattern of the "Chalet Socks" socks. It is difficult to find a fitting gloves pattern for my tiny hands, so I had to come up with something myself. I wanted to knit cable patterns again after I had tried a lot of colour knitting before. The wool is a remnant of the sock wool (sock wool 4-ply "Wüstensonne") from Alte Künste, from which I already knitted my "Neowise" socks.
