Strickpullover "Whiting" von Rowan

* Das Rowan-Heft "Wintertide" mit der Anleitung für den Pullover "Whiting" hatte ich mir schon 2013 gekauft. Jetzt habe ich den Pullover endlich angefangen.

* I already purchased the booklet "Wintertide" by Rowan with the jumper pattern called "Whiting" in 2013. Finally, I have started this jumper.

* Im November war ich zum ersten Mal bei einem Kurs in der Akademie am Meer Klappholttal auf Sylt. Ein paar nette, mit dem Smartphone aufgenommene Sylt-Schnappschüsse sowie einen Bericht über den Kurs und die Akademie gibt es auf meinem zweiten Blog wiewolken.blogspot.de.

* In November I attended a 5-day-intensive workshop at a kind of a conference center on the island of Sylt. You can find a couple of nice smartphone snapshots of Sylt as well as a narrative on the workshop and the center on my second blog wiewolken.blogspot.de.

Der Lindwurm ist fertig (Power Puff Bracelet)

* "Der Lindwurm ist fertig!", war mein Ausruf als ich das Armband gestern Abend fertiggestellt hatte.

* "I finished the lindworm!" - that was my proclamation when I completed the bracelet yesterday evening.

* Die Inspiration war ein Armreif von Jean Power, ein sogenanntes "Powerpuff Bangle", mit abwechselnd großen und kleinen Dreiecken.

* I was inspired by a so-called powerpuff bangle by Jean Power with alternating big and small triangles.

* Ich orientierte mich an der Anleitung für ein "Caldera Bangle" aus "Contemporary Geometric Beadwork 1" und fügte zwischen den Dreiecken für den "Schlauch" (so übersetze ich jetzt mal "puff") eine "point round" und eine "fill round" ein.

* I was roughly guided by the tutorial for a "Caldera Bangle" in the book "Contemporary Geometric Beadwork 1" and added one point round and one fill round for the puff between the triangles.

* Es ist ein ungewöhnliches Armband, aber ich mag es. Ich nenne es Fàfnir (der Umarmer).

* It is a strange bracelet but I like it. I call it Fàfnir (the embracer).

* Irgendwann mache ich bestimmt noch mal eins mit 15/0 Delicas (dies ist aus 11/0 Delicas und 11/0 Treasures). Aber jetzt wird erstmal wieder gestrickt - ein Pullover ...

Narau Meditation Wrap (Dunadd by Alice Starmore)

* 8 Monate und 1 Tag nachdem ich Dunadd von Alice Starmore angeschlagen habe, konnten die letzten Fäden vernäht werden.

* 8 months and 1 day after I cast on Dunadd by Alice Starmore, the last threads could be sewn in.

* Als ich meiner Yogalehrerin das Tuch Anfang September zeigte, als es noch auf den Nadeln war, und ich ihr sagte, das werde ein Meditationstuch, da meinte sie, dass das Stricken angesichts der dünnen Nadeln (2mm) bereits Meditation wäre. :D
* When I showed my yoga teacher the wrap at the beginning of September when it was still on the needles and I told her that this was going to be a meditation wrap, she said that knitting it was already meditation considering the thin needles (2mm/US 0). :D

Wale statt Wahlen! Ms. Tomomi (und Ms. Manami)

* Wale statt Wahlen! Eine sehr gute Freundin hat in Bälde Geburtstag. Daher wird der violette Fisch, Ms. Tomomi (auf dem Bild oben links), bald gen Süden schwimmen. Ms. Tomomi und Ms. Manami kosten jedoch noch jede gemeinsame Stunde in vollen Zügen aus.

* "Wale statt Wahlen" means "Whales instead of elections" (this month federal elections will take place in Germany)! Soon a very good friend's birtday is coming up. That is why the violet fish, Ms. Tomomi (the left one on the top picture), will be swimming southwards in a few days. Ms. Tomomi and Ms. Manami are enjoying every second they are having together to the fullest.

Ms. Manami (Amigurumi-Fisch "Wasabi") und Blog-Empfehlung "Food Vegetarisch"

* Doch, doch ich arbeite auch noch an meinem großen Tuch. Aber da ich jetzt wieder öfter mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln unterwegs war, hatte ich ein Mitnehmstrickprojekt dabei. Darf ich Euch Ms. Manami (Bedeutung gemäß Internet: Mana = Zuneigung und Mi = Meer) vorstellen?

* Außerdem möchte ich noch einen deutschen Blog empfehlen: Food Vegetarisch. Die Betreiberin Eva Gründemann bezeichnet sich als Genuss-Vegetarierien, "weil [ihr] meistens vegetarische Gerichte einfach besser schmecken als solche mit Fleisch". Das finde ich sehr sympatisch und undogmatisch, weil es mir ähnlich geht. Inzwischen haben wir schon drei Rezepte nachgekocht und ich freue mich schon auf das Buch von Frau Gründemann, das im Herbst erscheint. Heute haben wir die "Glutenfreie Pizza mit Blumenkohl-Boden und einem Belag mit Kartoffeln" nachgekocht (siehe Foto unten).

Kindness Kobold

* Ich brauchte eine kleine Pause von meinem Großstrickprojekt, dem Dunadd-Tuch (siehe letztes Foto). Daher versuchte ich mich mal an einem "Viech", wie ich es liebevoll nenne. Ich finde die "Amigurumi-Viecher" wirklich süß, aber ich habe in meinem Leben bis jetzt nur ganz wenig gehäkelt. Das Stricken liegt mir mehr, daher suchte ich nach einem "gestrickten Amigurumi". Ich fand die kostenlose Anleitung für das "A little Kindness Monster" von Rachel Borello Carroll. Letztes Wochenende erschuf ich dann meinen Kindness Kobold ...

* I needed a little break from my major knitting project, the Dunadd-Wrap (see the last picture of this entry. Therefore, I ventured on a "critter". I really like those "amigurumi critters" but I have crocheted only a few times in my life. I prefer to knit. That is why I looked for a "knitted amigurumi". I found the free pattern for "A little Kindness Monster" by Rachel Borello Carroll. Last weekend, I created my Kindness Kobold ...

* Obwohl es in Norddeutschland immer noch recht kalt ist, steht die Japanische Kirschblüte überraschenderweise schon in voller Blüte. Die Frühlingssonne konnte die Blüten scheinbar schon herauslocken!

Wild Way (Afton) Scarf

* Meine Version des Afton-Schals von Brooklyn Tweed ist fertig. Ich nenne meinen Schal Wild Way nach einem Lied von Tori Amos.
* I have finished my version of the Afton scarf of Brooklyn Tweed. I call my scarf Wild Way according to a song by Tori Amos.

* Leider ist das Rippenmuster, das man jeweils am Anfang stricken musste, nicht als Strickschrift angegeben. Prompt habe ich mich bei der zweiten Hälfte vertan, es aber zu spät gemerkt. Es fällt kaum auf und ich beschloss, dass ich sowieso lernen möchte, besser mit Fehlern umzugehen ...
* Unfortunately, the ribbing pattern to be knitted at the beginning of each side of the scarf is not indicated as a chart. Hence, I screwed it up on the second part of the scarf and realized the mistake too late. I does not stand out much and I decided that I want to learn how to improve dealing with mistakes anyway ...

* Das Muster zu stricken hat richtig Spaß gemacht. Aber die zwei Schal-Teile mit Maschenstich zusammenzunähen war nicht so toll, insbesondere, da man auch Umschläge zusammennähen musste. Ich nähe lieber abgekettete Teile zusammen.
* Knitting the stitch pattern was a lot fun. However, grafting the two scarf parts was a pain, especially as you had to graft yarnovers as well. I prefer sewing together parts that are already cast off.
